The word 'Spring' has many meanings

The word Spring has many important meanings: As a source of water a spring is the source of growth, Spring is also the season of optimism and energy. And, when the energy in a spring is released it creates sudden move or jump upwards or forwards. We want to release that energy in entrepreneurs, we want to help them create growth.

About Spring Capital

Spring Capital is a family-owned investment-company committed to value-creating ownership of growth businesses. While traditional private equity and venture capital companies need to raise capital from other investors our capital is “ever green”. This allows us to have a more long-term perspective on our investments and more importantly our investment professionals don't need to spend their valuable time raising money. We find that our model aligns well with the goals of the companies we invest in.

Spring Capital was founded by serial entrepreneur Are Traasdahl in 2009. Are has more than 20 years’ experience in mobile and digital content. He was the Founder & CEO of Tapad Inc. In 2016, Telenor Group acquired Tapad for $360M, making it the fifth largest venture-backed M&A exit in New York since 2009.

Traasdahl is a frequent contributor for outlets such as CNBC and Bloomberg News, and he has been featured in Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, Ad Age and other major news outlets. He was named Global Startup Awards’ Founder of the Year in 2016 and EY Entrepreneur of the Year in 2014. He was also named one of Business Insider’s “Most Important People in Mobile Advertising”. Prior to Tapad, he founded Thumbplay, a mobile entertainment service that he grew to more than $100MM in revenues in less than 3 years before he exited the company (the company, later acquired by Clear Channel, is now called iHeartRadio).
